Root Heave on Courts 2&3

Dear Members
This is just a gentle reminder of a few safety matters. Adherence to the points below will make sure we all keep safe whilst playing on our courts.
Firstly: we urge you to be mindful when crossing at the back of the courts to get from the gate to courts 2 and 3 and our new Mini Courts.  You must wait until the end of a point/game or until the player(s) wave you across between points.  Failure to do this puts all parties at risk of being injured.  It is also a point of tennis etiquette of which all players should be aware. Note that running behind someone as they are hitting the ball is very dangerous as it could easily end up in an injury from a racquet being swung.
Secondly: court 3 will be temporarily out of play until the raised root damage has been repaired.  Blaise will still use it for his lessons as he will conduct his lesson from the damaged end as he can keep clear of the danger.
Finally: guidelines from the LTA about retrieving balls from other courts states very clearly that you must not run onto other courts to collect your balls that may have ended up there by accident.  You should wait until a break in play and ask players to send your ball back to you without touching it with your hands.
Thank you in anticipation of your support in following these simple guidelines.

Welcome to Haddenham Tennis Club

Haddenham Tennis Club was formed in 1986 to provide the village with decent tennis courts for families after some brilliant fund raising activity and now has three courts complete with floodlights.

The club now provides tennis coaching at all the local Haddenham Schools and has approximately 100 adult members and 80 junior members. Priority for club membership is given to all residents of the village and families whose children attend school at Haddenham. There is a strong bias toward Juniors and full coaching and development programmes have been implemented.

The club has a strong senior playing membership that has increased greatly in recent years. The club now runs many senior and junior teams. (2 Men's, 3 Ladies, 2 Mixed and up to 10 Junior sides). The men’s and ladies senior sides play in Division 1 in the local leagues.

The club has the use of the Haddenham Playing Fields Pavilion that has a fitted kitchen, toilets and showers and use of the Haddenham Sports and Social Club that has excellent facilities, which includes a well-run bar.

The future aims of the club are to produce a steady stream of talented tennis players for the club and county, along with a solid base of good club players. The club hopes to keep a balance of good standards of play and social activity. The club strives to keep and develop all facilities to the highest standards.
